Turkish airline pet policy: Main Requirements for In-Cabin Pet Travel

• Pet Types Allowed

  Only cats, dogs, and small songbirds (like parakeets and canaries) are permitted to travel in the aircraft cabin.

• Carrier Size

  The carrier must not exceed these dimensions:
  Height: 23 cm
  Width: 30 cm
  Length: 40 cm

• Weight Limit

  The combined weight of the pet and its carrier must not exceed 8 kg.

• Carrier Requirements

  Must be specifically designed for pets (hard or soft, depending on cabin vs. cargo).
  For cabin travel, ventilation holes of sufficient size (minimum 2.5 cm diameter) must be present on at least three sides.
  Must fit under the seat in front of you during the flight.
  The pet must stay inside the carrier, with all openings (zippers/covers) closed during the flight.

• Booking & Fee

  Reservation for pet travel must be made at least 6 hours before departure via the Turkish Airlines website or app.
  Pet transport incurs an additional fee, separate from the free baggage allowance.
