Measure your dog's muzzle width: from the outside of one cheek to the other. If the muzzle width is under 14 cm, your dog will drink comfortably from the bowl. For broad-muzzled breeds (e.g. Rottweiler, Bernese Mountain Dog) the dog laps from the rim — completely normal.

💡 For giant breeds you can also pour the water directly into a separate, larger portable bowl you carry alongside.

How does the water dispensing work? +

Press the red button on top and water flows from the tank into the detachable bowl. Release the button to stop. Any remaining water in the bowl can easily be poured back into the bottle — nothing is wasted.

Is the bottle BPA-free and safe for dogs? +

Yes. The Calypso is made from BPA-free Tritan plastic — the same food-grade material used in premium human water bottles. Safe for daily use and dishwasher-friendly.

Can I use it for small dogs too? +

The bottle works fine for any breed, but the 2.2 L capacity is most practical for large dogs. For small dogs under 5 kg, our smaller portable bottles may be a better fit.

Does it fit in a standard backpack side pocket? +

With a base diameter of 16 cm and a height of 27 cm, it fits in the side pocket of most hiking and dog-walking backpacks. Check your bag's pocket dimensions if unsure.

How do I clean it? +

Both the bottle and the bowl are dishwasher safe. For a thorough clean, use a bottle brush to reach the inside of the tank. Rinse well before use.

Can I put other liquids in it? +

The bottle is designed for water only. Liquids containing sugars, flavourings or other additives can leave residue and damage the valve mechanism over time.
