• Pet eligibility

  Only cats and small dogs are allowed. Pets must be older than 15 weeks (dogs to the USA at least 6 months), clean, healthy, calm and well-behaved. Pregnant animals are not accepted.

• Weight limit

  Maximum combined weight of pet and carrier is 8 kg (18 lbs). One animal per carrier; exceptions apply for two young animals of comparable size (at least 12 weeks old), two adult animals of comparable size, or a mother with one young (0–6 weeks), as long as the total stays within 8 kg.

• Carrier requirements

  Maximum 55 × 40 × 23 cm (118 cm in total). No sturdy frame, wheels or telescopic handle. Escape-proof, leak-proof and bite-proof, lined with absorbent material (e.g. a blanket; no newspaper, cardboard or straw). The pet must be able to stand in its natural position, lie down and turn around inside the closed carrier. Only one carrier per passenger.

• On-board rules

  The pet stays inside the carrier (including head and tail) under the seat in front of you for the entire flight. Window seat only; not in emergency exit rows, the first row behind a bulkhead, or near other pets.

• Booking & form

  Book in advance via "My booking" or the Service Centre (max. 4 pet containers per aircraft). At the check-in counter, present two copies of the completed and signed form for carrying an animal in the cabin.

• Documentation

  Carry all required travel documents: health/vaccination certificates, pet passport or import/export permits. The passenger is fully responsible for meeting the regulations. Pets are not accepted in the cabin on flights to/from the United Kingdom.

Measure your pet's length (nose to base of tail), height (floor to top of head) and weight. Your pet must be able to stand upright and turn around inside the closed carrier, and pet plus carrier must not weigh more than 8 kg combined.

What should I do if my dog is restless in enclosed spaces?
