The Miravia is a rectangular soft pet carrier measuring 55 x 40 x 23 cm. That is exactly the maximum size ITA Airways allows in the cabin.
Three curtains (two on the sides, one on top) help your pet calm down and protect against rain and wind. The rectangular shape uses all the space under the seat in front of you.

On international flights ITA Airways allows 8 kg for pet, carrier and food combined. The Miravia weighs 1.95 kg. That leaves room for cats and small dogs up to about 6.05 kg (minus food). On domestic flights in Italy the limit is 12 kg, so up to about 10 kg for your pet.

The flexible top gives a little to slide under the seat, then springs back so your pet gets full headroom again.

If your pet sees the carrier for the first time at the airport, it means stress for both of you.
Leave the Miravia open at home a week or two before the flight. Put a familiar blanket inside and add a treat now and then. Most cats and dogs start sleeping in it on their own. By travel day, the carrier already smells like home.
On travel day: line the bottom with an absorbent blanket. Take the leash and muzzle out of the carrier, as they are not allowed inside.
