The Helios expands sideways, not upward. An additional 24×28×24 cm panel unzips to the side, extending the total length from 46 cm to 70 cm. The height (24 cm) stays the same, so it sits flat under the seat in front of you.
Once the aircraft is airborne and the seatbelt sign is off, you can unzip the side panel. Keep the bag collapsed during boarding, taxi, take-off, and landing as required by airlines.
The maximum allowed weight is 6.5 kg (pet + carrier combined). But weight alone is not enough — you must also measure your pet's height while standing. The interior height of the carrier is 24 cm, so your pet should be able to stand upright without pressing against the top. If your pet is taller than ~20–21 cm at the shoulder, they will not be comfortable. Always measure before purchasing.
No — a soft cabin carrier is not the right choice for anxious or easily stressed animals. For pets that do not travel calmly, we strongly recommend using a rigid hard-shell carrier and booking them as cargo in the hold, where conditions are more controlled. Always consult your vet before flying with a stressed pet.
